This week we turn our attention to one of the longest running shows of the golden age of radio, the classic comedy series Fibber McGee and Molly. In this episode we see the rivalry between Fibber and next-door neighbour Gildersleeve break out amidst an attempt at New Year’s good cheer. The show began it’s life in the style of a vaudeville review, but gradually morphed into a recognisable sitcom with running gags such as Fibber’s one sided telephone calls and regular encounters with the neighbours.
